Auckland Domain

Nice public art installation in the Domain

The Grafton Bridge
.

.

The bridge was nicknamed 'the suicide bridge'.  Such circumstances precipitated the addition of glass barricades.

Somebody had the foresight to provide photo-taking holes in the lexan barrier.

Somebody went out in the middle of the bridge and painted a love poem in Maori in the street.  What's impressive about this is that he must have run out in the street, painted a letter or two, than ran back when a care came to pass.

The Domain Lodge, a residence for The Auckland Cancer Society

caught my eye.  Here's the architect.  (the  Flash is buggy, though.)

The building is located on Boyle Crescent,

Interesting essay about the neighborhood around Boyle Crescent in the Sixties.
