Abel Tasman Park

Abel Tasman Park follows the coast of Golden Bay, and is considered one of the "Great Walks".  Several Kiwis had commented to me that one way to see Abel Tasman would be to take a water taxi to the good parts (the beaches) and skip the less-good parts (tramping through bush).  In so doing, I would avoid packing 5 days worth of food and gear through the park.
So, I decided to see the park in two sections, part on land, part on water:
  1. The first was the north section of the park;  I drove out to Totaranui Beach and took the water taxi south to Onetahuti / Tonga Beach and walked north.
  2. The second was on water.   I joined a Sea Kayaking group organised by Kaiteriteri Sea Kayaks.   They took us up to Bark Bay, and then we kayaked down to Kaiteriteri.

Here's a map of the park, where I have marked the sections that I did on foot, and by the water.  The map has hyperlink hotspots, so click on the area to get to the page for that part of the park.
