Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood.

Lion with Hermitage

I'll have to look up the name of this church.
More details from the church interior.  The stuff that looks like marble is just plaster/drywall and paint.  A skilled paint job, but still it's paint.  We were to see a lot more of this stuff at Peterhof.
This is real.  It's carved malachite.
Detail of the Malachite.  The craftsmanship in Russia was polar;  it was either VERY VERY GOOD, like the work on this malachite, or it sucked.
More church interiors.  It's all paint, no gilding or molding.

Another big old church.  Little did we know at the time, but all we would be seeing would be churches.  St Issac's Cathedral.

couldn't resist.
