The 25th of October is an important date for Marxists.  Over the night of 24-25 October 1917, Trotsky's coordinated overthrow of the Duma government was implemented, in an almost bloodless coup.  This is generally termed the 'October Revolution' and is considered the start of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

Lenin published a pronouncement, "To the Citizens of Russia"

"Long live the revolution of workers, soldiers and peasants!"

Now, 25 October is used as a tagline for selling Audis.

The air around the center of Moscow was putrid.  I don't think any of those cars has pollution control equipment.
Moscow is becoming bilingual (Sorry,France).  I was impressed with the quality of the spoken English among the Russians.  Their English was not just grammatically correct, but also colloquial and metaphoric.  I'm also impressed with the clarity of this sign as a wayfinding device.  It has a clear typeface, the color is used to distinguish the languages and direction.  The English /  Russian sign is particularly ironic given the communist-era star on the same pole.
