In August 2004, my father and I embarked on a cruise of the Russian river system between St. Petersburg and Moscow.  We began in St. Petersburg and made stops along the way.  I took about 15 rolls of photos (yes, I am still a photographic Luddite).  Unfortunately I think the film got fogged, perhaps by the soviet-era x-ray machines.    The highlighted areas of the map below are the stops along the trip.  Moscow and St. Petersburg links will take you to another map.
