Kizhi is an ancient church built on an island in the middle of Lake Onega.  Most impressive are the shingled spires.

A cemetery.
Icons.  Every church has its icons that it wants to show to the tourists.

A "single family" home at Kizhi.  The entire family of 15 lived in one room at the left.  The balance of the structure was for livestock and feed for the livestock.  Winters are so cold that the livestock are kept inside.

Interesting approach to fence construction.    Logical, and it looks more sturdy than fences with horizontal railings.

Some local dogs, starting their winter coats.
