Cathedral of Christ the Savior

Before the Communists Era, a large church stood at this site.  Stalin had it removed, and a community pool was built in its place.  The chlorine vapors from this pool damaged the artwork in the nearby Pushkin Museum.  After 1992,  several Russian oligarchs were 'approached' and were 'suggested' to build a replacement for what was destroyed.  The english name is "Cathedral of Christ the Savior."
